Project Description

The North Saskatchewan Bridge project includes the construction of two new major bridge structures spanning the North Saskatchewan River between 130 Avenue and 153 Avenue in Northeast Edmonton.

This project is a significant subcomponent of the Northeast Anthony Henday Drive project and will be Alberta’s first P3 project to involve a major river crossing.  The P3 model for the Northeatst Anthony Henday Drive will provide an estimated Value for Money savings of $371 million compared to a traditional procurement.

An investment in this project will help the Province of Alberta complete the Ring Road system and provide a major river crossing in the Northeast quadrant of Edmonton.

The private sector contractor,Capital City Link General Partnership, will design, build, partially finance, and operate and maintain the project over a 34-year period. The first four years will be the construction phase.
